Destin is ranked the #1 Florida Beach in U.S. News and World Report for 2014, with more than 80% of the Emerald Coast's 4.5 million annual guest visiting each year.

Known as "The World's Luckiest Fishing Village", while also claiming to have the largest fishing vessel fleet in the state of Florida, Destin has grown into one of the most popular vacation spots on the Florida panhandle.

The bright white sand on Destin's beaches is some of the whitest in the world, making it the city famous for its sugary shores. Made up of pure Appalachian quartz, this Destin's sand stays cool in the summer, while also reflecting the sun's rays and giving the water a tropical emerald tint.

Besides water adventures, beach and sand, Destin has world-class resorts and rentals, exquisite beach hotels and quaint inns, with some of the best shopping and dining anywhere.

Area Destinations

The area surrounding Destin includes other popular tourist destinations. Sandestin, Florida, located to the east in Walton County, is a popular golf and beach resort. Further east along the coast are the beach communities of Seaside, Grayton Beach, and Rosemary Beach. And to the west are Navarre Beach, Pensacola Beach, and Fort Pickens from the Civil War.
